Jack Sanderson Thwaite
I’m a writer living in Bristol, using a framework of myth, ritual, the weird and the eerie to explore how we live now.
I’m co-founder of Two Headed Alien, a games studio focused on narrative innovation, supported by the UK Games Fund and Creative Enterprise. I was the writer for the game Electric Sleep, which was described as a ‘captivating interactive adventure’ (GameSpew) and praised for its ‘superb writing’ (GameGrin) and was part of the official showcase at WordPlay festival 2019 (Toronto).
I’m also co-director of Modern Ritual Theatre, whose debut show Our Blood Is An Ocean won a Toast of Plymouth Fringe award in 2020, and whose new show Welcome To You is being developed with support from Arts Council England and the University of Nottingham.
I’m the writer of The Flock, an audio drama with songs. It was nominated for a British Podcast Award, chosen for Apple New & Noteworthy, reached the UK fiction top 10, and was a podcast pick in the Guardian, Daily Post, and PodBible.
I have been part of the Royal Court Young Writers Programme and Soho Theatre Young Company, and was selected as one of the Bristol Old Vic Open Session writers for 2017-18.
My theatre work has been performed at Bristol Old Vic, the Tobacco Factory, Royal Court GRIT scratch night, Camden People’s Theatre, at the Edinburgh Fringe, and with Lewisham Youth Theatre, among others.
My short fiction has been published by Open Pen, Firewords and Maudlin House.
